History
Ray Fennig opened the doors to Preferred Carriers in 2005, with his wife and daughter Michelle, as the only other employees. Ray has in excess of 40 years experience in the trucking industry. They began by brokering loads until March of 2006 when they able to acquire their operating license.
By the end of 2006, they had 15 trucks. Today they have 45 trucks, 58 trailers and do millions in sales.
Mission
Preferred Carriers Inc. is a family owned and operated trucking company located in Spruce Grove, Alberta. A full-service company, Preferred Carriers specializes in flat deck and step deck equipment.
Truckload and LTL service is offered across North America, thanks to a professional network of lease operators and PCI certified sub-contractors.
Safety
Safety is our main concern and something that we never compromise. Preferred Carriers Inc. is a member in good standing with AMTA, and is CORE certified.
A safety audit and CVI inspection is done once a year on all of our trucks and trailers. Safety is our top priority, and all of our drivers must take a safety orientation before they sit in one of our trucks.

Technology
Preferred Carriers uses Shaw Media GPS tracking (Shaw Tracking) in their trucks.
Communication, logging and tracking system updates hourly so both Preferred Carriers and the client know where their load is at all times.
The technology logs everything: automated hours of service, scanning, navigation, performance monitoring and critical event reporting. Shaw Tracking’s wireless technology makes operations safer and more efficient.
Our Services

Oversize Loads
We can handle any type of freight from coast-to-coast. Our fleet of trucks and trailers can match any requirement that you may need. Let us be your preferred carrier.

Less-Than-Truckload (LTL)
LTL carrier moves goods from many different customers on one truck. The LTL carrier offers customers a more cost-effective method of shipping goods than the FTL operator. Rates for LTL freight are determined by class, weight, pick up and destination zip codes

Full Truck Load (FTL)
FTL shipping stands for full truckload, meaning that the shipment will take up an entire truck by itself. FTL shipments are typically used when there are ten or more palettes that need to ship.
